Introduction
The Film Europa Report is a film that is based on scientific concepts as well as a biological aspect. It incorporates different scientific concepts that facilitate in comprehension of the film. Furthermore, it sought to bring proof to Earth on the existence of extraterrestrial life on the planet Jupiter. In the course of their journey, there was loss of communication although the film employs declassified footage to illustrate the occurrence of the events. Hence, the paper attempts to analyze the scientific concepts that are present in the movie Europa. This comprises of solar storm, space engineering as well as the existence of life on other planets (Our solar system, 2010).
Solar storm
The effect of the solar storm on the face on the Earth has been a minor one. As such, one can expect the effects to comprise of blackouts that are short-lived, aircraft rerouting, satellite loss as well as communication outrages that are short lived. Consequently, the arrival time for the coronal mass ejection ranges from two to 4 days with its effect being numerous days (Angelo, 2013).
Solar storms comprises of various components. These comprise of solar flares, CMEs or on other words, coronal mass ejections as well as SPE’s that is solar proton events The CMEs have the ability of interacting with the magnetic field of the Earth in order to produce a storm. However, not all storms are capable of producing the various elements but large storms often do. Solar storms are capable of shorting out the telecom satellites, the power grids as well as radio communications thus leading to damages accruing to trillions.
