Aspect of Game Theory

Essay Instructions:

Write about a moment of clarity that you experienced after studying a particular aspect of game theory. What was it that changed for you? Relate your experience to the particular game or concept. Your submission should be 800-1500 words.
Example
I was reading about a game similar to the courtship game in chapter 11 which made me realize that I needed to propose to my then girlfriend (and now wife). No, it was not motivated by the desire to “be intimate” as the book suggests...let me give you a bit of a background.
Erin and I had been dating long distance while I finished my PhD and she finished her Masters. We were living together in Florida, where we both had family and the support network of our friends. I had accepted a job at Penn State and wanted her to move to (the middle of nowhere) Pennsylvania with me. She did not have any friends or job prospects in the area at the time. Since we were “just” boyfriend and girlfriend at the time, she may have been concerned that she would make the move and then we would separate.
In the Courtship game, the woman is worried about her reputation if she has premarital sex and then ends up not marrying the man. In real life, Erin was worried about how her future would be compromised if she moved for me and then we separated. My costly gift was getting married before moving (even though we had a small ceremony and there was no diamond involved). If I intended to only use Erin to help me get accustomed to my new environs then move on to another relationship, then getting married would be extremely costly for me (well, the divorce part would be costly). Getting married gave her the assurance that she could move to PA with me and begin to look for jobs and plan a future with me.
(You don't need to write which lesson you learned about what, you can use any particular aspect of game theory)

Game Theory
Life necessitates that we make decisions every day of our existence. Some of these decisions have significant consequences, while others carry minor effects. Therefore, decisions with heavy consequences take serious thought and time to evaluate the best possible outcome. It was my case after completing my high school education. On the one hand, the popular route is to get a diploma or undergraduate degree from an institution of higher learning. After that, one can enter the job market and find or create employment in their study area. It is often the path that many people take and is supported by many parents and guardians. On the other hand, one can skip school altogether and jump straight into the job market. At this point, one can decide to start a business or work their way up to a blue-collar job.
This was the main dilemma after completing my high school education. I understood the excitement and achievement of completing a university degree and how that would better situate me in the job market. I also understood that while this system may have worked in the past, it proves riskier today. I will have thousands of dollars in debt upon finishing my undergraduate degree. This loan might take years for me to clear it. This means that despite getting into the job market and getting income, most of that will be spent on clearing the loan, which will have already gained interest. I also considered the rate at which people who graduate from campus end up in work fields unrelated to their course. It made me wonder if I would succeed at my career of choice based on the course, I will take at the university level.
It seemed a more reasonable choice to directly jump into the job market and avoid the debt I would accumulate from attending university. I would start a business and work my way through, following other successful business people without a college education. Upon following their social media pages and watching their videos on YouTube and other sites, I noted a common instruction they all offered. They all stressed the importance of education, not necessarily a college education, but the need to learn more about a topic of interest. For example, they encouraged joining courses, free or paid, to further develop your experti...
