The article titled " Why go Vegan" on vegansociety.com is about why people should be a part of the vegan lifestyle. I’m not sure whom the article was written by or their level of education but I assume they are a devoted advocate to veganism and seem like they know a great deal about veganism. This article discusses issues pertaining to the negative effects on the environment that come from the consumption of animals and dairy products. Another issue discussed is how vegetarianism “ isn’t enough”. This part of the article talks about how dairy farmers kill male calves because they are of no use to them and how they dispose of female cows that no longer produce milk. I personally do not believe in being vegan, I do care about the environment and it’s inhabitants but I don’t believe being vegan solves the issue of environmental destruction. I’ve known a few vegans in my life, who always love to talk about “being vegan”, but in my opinion they all have looked malnourished. I did some research and a lot of people have written blogs on how they no longer are vegans because it is so physically draining and causes your body to feel ill over time. I do believe that this article made some very good points on how being vegan can improve the environment, but at the cost of a person’s health?
