The Value of Life When Facing Challenges
Challenges in life are inevitable. In particular, the most significant thing is not whether problems come or not, but it is the approach people use to address these issues. At some point in life, everyone encounters challenges, which sometimes might make one lose the meaning of life. Individuals should learn to appreciate the good moments and make lemonade when life throws lemons to them. Besides, everything does not happen by mistake and today’s experience helps people to become better versions of themselves tomorrow. Individuals should be optimistic at all times and hope for better things in life. Notably, life is full of challenges. People have a choice to give up or face the challenges, strengthening themselves in the process.
People face different problems with distinct magnitude. For example, Lance Armstrong makes it clear that sometimes one perceives as if the world has come to an end. That is the moment that an individual reflects his or her life to see whether one has contributed to the well-being of oneself and the community. Armstrong asserts that the most significant challenge in his life was the night before the surgery of the brain (Armstrong). All he thought about was death. Even though Armstrong was a good person, he said that it changed nothing since cancer did not care. Indeed, the individual was not a believer of any religion, although he had faith in God. However, according to him, prayers would not have saved his life since he was never a Christian. At this point, Armstrong was desperate and was almost giving up since he was ready to accept the fate. The only things that the person believed in so firmly was the doctor, surgery, and medicine. Armstrong’s hope was the experimental treatment by Doctor Einhorn since it was the only thing that would have saved his life at the moment. His experience enabled him to learn significant lessons in life. The person learned that everyone is nothing without a belief. Despite the challenges that one is facing, the most crucial thing is to have a positive mindset. As a result, the choices that individuals make during their toughest situations determine whether one will overcome the problems or not.
