From the movies, we see heroes depicted as people with supernatural powers or gifts as some of them like to call them. These heroes often face problems and through a swing of a hammer or using their technologically advanced or enhanced suits, they are able to overcome the challenges. However, in our lives, heroes are simple beings who unlike most of us strive to use their limited resources to help the fellow man. In my life, I have met and interacted with people I can call heroes and some of them have impacted my life directly. During my fifth grade year, I had the worst bullying experience and life seemed hard and unbearable. Every day, I would go home with my self-esteem shattered and even though my parents noticed a change in my behavior, they were both deeply engrossed in their careers to spare time for me. Life seemed unfair and I could have easily been a depression victim because I was always stressed and this was all because of Ed Norton. Ed was huge and even though we were many, he only had eyes for me. In the morning, during lunch break, and when we were going home, Ed would make sure that I had something to worry about.
While Ed tried hard to bully everyone and assert himself as the fiercest of the bullies, Mark, who later came to be my best friend, was trying to help anyone who had an encounter with Ed. Mark was kind-hearted, smiled all the time, and always stopped to say hi to people he did not know. While almost everyone in school knew Mark, I had never had the opportunity of meeting him. One day as Ed had just tripped me and slapped my face, Mark appeared and shouted at Ed. The two started shoving each other and if it were not for the janitor the two would have eventually come to blows. Apparently, Mark had noticed how Ed was treating me and he had also seen how withdrawn I became. He started following Ed and slowly made plans to stop him as he had done to other bullies. For your information, Mark was not as huge as Ed but he was taller and bigger than me. He knew he could not fight Ed but since he was fighting for the little guy, he decided to ignore the odds.
