World War II culminated in a series of events and significant changes in the new world order. The war spanned from 1939 to 1945, most of it under President Franklin. D. Roosevelt till his death on 12th April 1945, after which his deputy Harry S.Truman took over. Truman would steer the war to its end with the last opponent, Japan, surrendering on 2nd September 1945 after the infamous Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. The war was marred with numerous changes and happenings. Back at home, in the US, the Japanese Americans faced xenophobic attacks due to their mother country's allegiance in the war.
