The Story of an Hour and The Yellow Wallpaper both share the same storyline that there are women having an enormous desire for freedom because their husbands are controlling them. The 2 stories are written from the view of a feminist, but the main characters in the story do not share the same life changes so they had different responses to freedom. In the 2 stories, the husbands were given total authority to control their life. However, in The Yellow Paper the husband of the narrator has mental and physical control over his wife.
