The main health problem that cuts across different nations is the alcohol-related harms. The problem is used to describe the various injuries inflicted upon individuals as a result of drinking too much alcohol (Agnew, 2014). The deaths reported worldwide associated with alcohol abuse continue to rise every day, and the number of people with alcohol-related diseases is also on the rise globally. Other issues associated with excessive alcohol consumption include the various accidents reported, the mental instability among users and the economic costs incurred as a result of alcohol consumption (Kubacki et al, 2015). The issue can be best addressed by using John Locke’s social contract theory that addresses the ability of the authority to exercise absolute control over individuals in the society.
