Should Congress Restrict the Rights of Citizens to Keep and Bear Arms?
The Second Amendment highlights that American citizens have the right to keep and bear arms, but when there have been tragedies because of gun violence there have been more calls to limit those who carry guns. Legal gun owners are responsible and handle their firearms with care, and even in cities with strict gun control laws, gun deaths tend to be higher. Protecting gun owners’ rights should not be infringed and violent felons should still not be allowed to own guns. Congress should not restrict the rights of citizens to keep and bear arms as this would punish legal gun owners without solving the problem of gun violence.
