Advertisers seek to connect with the target audience using a persuasive message and creative visuals that can be simple yet appealing to the target market. Commercial advertisements also highlight how products and services are different from others as there is greater emphasis on the key messages and selling points. The Toyota RAV4 advertisement caption is “Whatever, Wherever and Whenever” and reemphasizes that the car associated with traveling around. In the ad, there is a man in a bright yellow and orange color kayak, coming out of the trunk of the 2017 Toyota RAV4 and the message is that one can have an adventure anywhere. The ad appeals to reliability, adventure, and quality as RAV4 is suitable for different terrains.
From the advertiser’s perspective, a car is much more than a vehicle destined for moving objects or transporting people as it is a symbol of adventure and power. The color contrasts in the ad differentiate the white/ gray RAV4, and the black pavement and the words are written in white, and this makes the image stand out compared to using a background in brighter colors.
