March 16, 2021—Wi-Fi 6 is an innovative technology first introduced in the market in 2018. It aims to reduce network congestion at home, especially during the pandemic, where most people stay at home for safety. It works by redirecting various devices and separating the old or slow and new or fast devices to clear the network and reduce congestion. Additionally, it is affordable at only $70 per router, but it can go as high as $380, depending on the brand.
When tested, Wi-Fi 6 has evident improvements. However, these are only minimal compared with old routers. It can reduce download duration, buffer periods, and video call and game lags but only marginally compared to the previous routers.
