Trying Twenties
We are what we make ourselves to be. We have to prepare ourselves and come out form our hiding into the real world to decide what we are to be. This decision entails carefully selection of what we consider to be right or wrong. This stage of changing our ways of thinking about the future is what is described by Gail Sheehy in her essay ""Predictable Crises of Adulthood," in which there are clear stages of life that everybody has to go through in one way or another. Sheehy insists that every person has to come out of one stage to another in life to become more dependable or think that they are dependable from the past stage. Sheehy continues to argue that humans tend to reach a stage where they think of what they should or shouldn't do. According to Sheehy analysis, I have left the first stage as I have started to think more of my future. I am in the "trying twenties stage" as I have proved to be more focused on my education, I take up off school jobs, and I have changed my social life.
As I have thought of how my future will be, I am more focused on being able to manage my future. I have also come to the realization that education is my key to success. Furthermore, most of my teachers and adult friends have made me realize that the world is competitive and without a good education then my progress will be very slow. Having known that, I have put more time on studying after class, joining group studies and consulting more with the lecturers.
