Desdemona, Emilia and Bianca are portrayed from a male’s perspective as either good natured or ‘whores’ depending on how their spouses feel about them in different scenarios. 2. The women are completely passive.
Women are not passive entirely; Desdemona may be naïve at first when she is accused of infidelity and she is passive, as she does not object to what her husband says. Emilia is not passive at all times and disagrees with the ill treatment of women by the men 3. Each women is defined by her male partner.
