No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy
“No Country for Old Men” by Cormac McCarthy is a thrilling novel that deeply reveals the game between crime and justice at the Texas-Mexican border. It reveals the life of the victims and the offenders entangled in an unintended web of drug dealing. The author precisely narrates the happenings under three central characters: Anton Chigurh, Llewellyn Moss, and Tom Bell. Moss is a hunter who accidentally pumps into a corpse while hunting. The corpse happens to belong to a drug dealer found with a suitcase containing $2million in cash and drugs lying beside him. Chigurh is a drug dealer who survives the ordeal and follows the cash while Bill is a Texas sheriff (McCarthy).
McCarthy starts off the novel in a dramatic and scary way with Chigurh killing the deputy sheriff using his handcuffs. What follows is a series of run and escape amongst police officers, criminals and the victims caught in between. It is clear that drug peddling is a ‘dirty' game wit
