My Most Embarrassing Moment
Every day we go through certain moments that make us want to forget that these events happened to us. However, there are certain events that we cannot easily forget because they remain so fresh in our minds even if it happened some months back. There are certain embarrassing moments that one would wish the earth could develop a hole and swallow you before people have the chance to laugh at you. Everyone has been through an embarrassing time; it is a moment full of anxiety combined with a lot of discomforts that everything seems to be at a standstill.
I cannot forget the most embarrassing moment I had in school; it was a cold fall when we had a big basketball game on one Saturday night. I was feeling nervous as l walked through the doors and seeing the whole crowd rumbling with cheers from all sides of the court. Gleaming with bright uniforms, we all paraded in front of the crowd for a brief introduction before the game could start. As the game went on, I was benched and waited patiently to be called. I was shivery when all of a sudden I was called into the game, with a luscious voice the announcer's voice boomed through the speakers “checking in for Hersey high school number 40, freshman Marion Richards". I swiftly ran out to the court trying to keep a brave face while my brain scrambled to remember everything we were taught during the training sessions. It was the first time I was playing at a tournament. It was a huge opportunity I had been granted to make an impression and to show everyone what I was made of. The first few minutes went well; I took a good shot after wrestling the ball out of the opponent hands.
When my teammate fouled a girl on her shot, everyone took their positions for the free throws; the bald referee in his black and white uniform blew the whistle and bounced the ball throwing it to the shooter. The referee informed her in that she had two shots. The first shot wen...
