Writing is an art and skill. It involves critically putting down thoughts about a particular subject, theme or component on paper, without losing its original meaning. Writing has been a subject of great concern for a long time, with various individuals explaining that it is only for academicians. This cannot be true because all people do communicate or desire to pass a message through writing. During this semester I have written quite a number of essays though not for college purposes but as part of my improvement techniques. Before college I used to write assuming that my reader is my teacher. The essay writing course has helped me identify the various steps involved in the writing process (from draft preparation to preparing the final copy). Another thing that I have learned is that write a good essay, one must organize his ideas. Additionally, I have learned what should be included in an essay and what should not.
My general writing skills have improved, but I still have a problem with organizing my work despite the progress I have made so far.
