Edward was frequently narrating the tale of Will being born. Through the beginning, Edward was out capturing the most massive and most fabulous catfish in the entirety of Alabama. He finally caught it with his marriage ring, once caught, he recognized that the fish was so huge because it was pregnant. The lesson of the novel is that if you desire to get an uncatchable woman, you have to present her a part of gold. As the tale of Edwards time reveals we have presented a flashback of a youthful Will in mattress with chickenpox, to relieve the weariness of staying stuck in bed, Edward told him about the moment he was stuck in his bed for 3 years. Edward remembers how he was incapacitated when his body began to outgrow him and moves identical to a goldfish evolving to fit its environment. the hidden message in the scene is, if you start a tiny life, you will also be a tiny person if you live like the goldfish and grow and harmonize with your environment, you’ll develop to be a huge person CITATION Pro16 \l 1033 (Prorokova).
Once his body had ceased to grow, he succeeded in every way he could, beginning at class and then at plays, he won the admiration of the village and fulfilled his early life full of positivity and accomplishments. A giant called Karl arrives in town and starts devouring all the livestock and the townsfolk want to stop him, Edward aides to go and negotiate to the giant. He told the giant that he is also too huge for a tiny village and concludes that they should move together and travel to the big city where people can be big together. This novel is also attempting to set Will up for the future and whatever he is to expect. Being a big character in a small town is only useful if you can outgrow it, rather than stay in it. The tale of his dad discarding his body and the city is a comparison for coming of age, escaping the nest, and being a huge fish in a tiny pond. The other boys and girls are terrified to see their end but Edward thinks that if he recognizes when he can enjoy and savor his life now.
