Weeklong March Breaks Are More Productive Than Five 3-Day Weekends
During the march break the students get the chance to have a break from their daily school routines. For the rest of the working nations, such breaks are not available unless one takes work leave and goes on a vacation. The rest of the time as the students enjoy march breaks everyone else is working with the exception of the school staff. As such it is crucial to understand why there is need for the students to enjoy their march breaks. There is an option of having the students go on a break that is one week long or have five different 3 day weekends for the students to enjoy. This is a crucial part of the students learning process and it is thus important that it has the most desired effect on the students, parents, lecturers and the curriculum. Instead of the many breaks, however, it is advisable to have a one week break where the students break from their studies.
March break or otherwise referred to as the Spring Break in the United states and most of the western nations, is a school tradition where the students are allowed to break away for a week from their school program. This is a program that included in the schools’ curriculum and as such is an official break which is recognized in the schooling systems across the world. In other parts of the world the, break is referred many other different names however the period and the time that the break come in the school calendar is relatively the same.
There are a number of aspects that have to be considered when establishing which the spring break should be one week and not five different breaks. One of them is the amount of distractions that these breaks would bring to the students. The one week break is quite standard. This is relative to the fact that it is not too long. One week is enough for the students to take a break from their busy schedules. Having a single block of days when the students are able to join their families and their communities helps to rejuvenate their energies. It is the simple structure of the break that is crucial relative to the fact that, it does not offer too much distractions. In the five weekends suggestion, there are too many breaks which means that there are too many distractions. Students have to prepare for the breaks, engage with the communities and families and them prepare for the following week in school within the span of three days. What is more important is the fact that, they have to go through this for five times. Three days are not enough to either set in to their homes and then prepare for school. By the time they are settling in, the students are then supposed to get ready for the following week which is a school period. This amounts to too much distractions that end placing pressure on the students. Relative to the time the student has to prepare for the on and off school period, there is a lot of strain on their academic and even social activities.
