Robots do well in bringing about similar feelings brought on by animal pets. For instance, the human interactive robot-the care robots shaped like seagull has brought tremendous joy, happiness, and fulfillment to people in retirement and nursing homes in various countries. These robots can mimic sounds, and evoke feelings and emotions where necessary. On the other hand, the robots perform terribly in simulating all human behavior for instance movement, actual capabilities such as talking, hugging and responding to questions. Moreover, the robots cannot take responsibilities for their actions as they depend on an individual for their operation, thereby creating a problem in the application of the law in punishing criminality.
I would want the care robot in my home. Based on the video the care robot has bridged the gap of taking care of the elderly by providing them with companionship and bringing joy and excitement. Since the care robot is considered a pet and therapeutic robot, I would like to own one because I love pets very much for their companion ad their fluffy nature that is calming and soothing. Thus a care robot would provide similar benefits. Second, sometimes I feel lonely and sad, and a care robot can help raise my spirits through mimicking sounds and make me happy in such instances.
