The internet is one of the modern inventions that have become part and parcel of our lives. The Internet has influenced how people interact with others, work, learn, do business, teach and research for information. The internet technology has continued to evolve bringing social and economic consequences. In future, some of these changes might result in both positive and negative outcomes especially among specific individuals.
Scholar considers the internet as a negative tool that causes isolation because it cuts off the face to face interaction. While other supports the use of the internet because it increases connectivity. People have the chance to interact without any barrier. This research will examine whether the availability of information through internet increases connections among older adults.
The internet has influenced social interaction among different groups. In today's world, the internet is viewed as a means to enhance social connectivity among young people; however, limited research has been conducted to determine the influence of internet communication and the social connectivity among older adults.
A research study by Hage, Eveline, et al. 31-50) reviews usage of internet connectivity with friends to highlight the impact of online communication. The author reviews the use of email, Facebook and how social sites enhance social connectivity. The article contributes to the understanding of the characteristics of internet communication, including social connectivity like emotional closeness, but does not focus on any specific groups of individuals.

The purpose of the research was to determine how internet influences users psychological well being.
