The Inspiring Puyallup Tribe
As one of them minority Native American groups, the Puyallup tribe is, without doubt, one of the more interesting ones. Although it is relatively unknown, this tribal continues to have a significant impact in its community and continues to play an active role in so far as shaping the development of its community and its land is concerned. While researching the history and current events surrounding this tribe, a number of interesting factors came up. One of the most interesting ones is the fact that they strive particularly held salmon in high regard. It was quite surprising to find out that salmon was held in such high regard that it was used for veneration during the specific tribal ceremonies. Being a fishing community, it was also not surprising to find out that salmon was the main food source for this community. What was quite interesting, however, was the fact that this community has continued to uphold it strong traditions over the years has continued to insist on the significance of not only maintaining the land but also the fishing grounds which have served a great role in feeding the community over the past hundreds of years.
Another issue that also put this tribe and its activities into perspective was its website. It was encouraging and insightful to find out that this tribe has established a strong network among its people and that it continues to actively involved all its members in the various activities in which it is engaged.
