Hi thanks for writing my previous paper for me.
For this essay, my professor wants us to focus on freedom of speech, and write a 500-word informed opinion essay.
According to my professor's requirement:
In the first paragraph, talk about a situation in society, and raise/come up with a critical question about the related topic. And then, try to answer the question you come up with in your opinion.
Secondly, find some articles(research), find 4 sources that related to your question (1 historical source, 3 sources that agree or disagree your opinion), and then summarize articles' thesis. In this process, you don't need to write your opinion for articles just yet, but write what the author suggest as conclusion in the end of paragraph.
Next, you will evaluate these articles, and finally form your new and own opinion, (after reading these articles, what did you learn?) and at this point, answer the question you ask in the first paragraph with your new opinion.
This paper only need 500-word, you can write little bit more, but my professor don't want us write over too much, 550 is ok. when it is necessary, you can less the sources, it can be 3 sources.
So basically this is what my professor wants in the paper, and since we already discussed the topic in the class, and we were asked to tell what we essay is about, so this paper should focus on how Chinese government control their citizen's freedom of speech. I come up with a question: Many countries censor websites to control their citizens can or cannot see/say. Should they do that? You don't have to follow my question, you can come up with your own if you can come up with a better one, because I feel like mine need to be changed somehow.

Online Freedom of Speech in the Digital Age
The growth of the online and digital spaces has provided millions of people with a platform through which they can express their ideas and views on topics ranging from pets to racism and everything in between. While the growth of this space has essentially allowed people to speak their minds on issues, it has also raised some serious questions about just what is acceptable is free speech and especially on the digital space. Is offensive speech considered to be a part of free speech or does it go against the values and sentiment of what free speech entails?
According to Andrew Marantz and his article in the New Yorker, free speech online is not entirely free (Marantz). The article posits that private companies in the online space have the freedom and right to determine what constitutes as free speech to them and what does not. Essentially, this means that free speech online is only free when it conforms to the website’s or forum’s idea of free speech. In a similar tone, Bill Reader posits that free speech and a free press are inherently difficult to achieve due to the need to maintain civility in online civil discourse (Reader). In his opinion, the need to maintain civility in discourse and maintain free speech and a free press is essentially impossible in a digital space where many use anonymous comments to push the discourse on a particular issue. On the other hand, Bart Cammaerts asserts that free speech, especially online, is virtually impossible to police or implement according to a particular set of rules or standards (Cammaerts).
