Individual Person In Tennis: Serena Williams

Write a feature story about an individual person or a human interest. For myself, I prefer to write an individual person in tennis. Student’s Name Professor’s Name Course Date Serena Williams Serena Williams is categorized among the best tennis in the world that have exhibited good performance in history. In reference to the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), Serena Williams is ranked number one in the category of women. Serena has participated in a number of competitions among them being the Olympics and has won several gold medals among other prices. The player has been very consistent in her games making him to maintain a very good record over a long time. Williams was born in Michigan state on 26th September 1981. She was daughter to Richard Williams and Oracene Price in a family of five elder sisters. Serena has gone an extra mile to come up with her own tennis club. As a legendary player she has come up with one of the best initiative that is meant to nature the talents of other upcoming tennis players. In most cases, other players in the filed of tennis fail to participate in social corporate responsibility despite the success that they have attained in their lives. In this regard, Williams is an icon to army and is often viewed as a good example and a role model to other upcoming players. In her family, Serena’s elder sisters participated in tennis games and were all prepared for the game when they were young at the age of three years. Their talents were fostered by their father who was a player and their role models. It was easier for the girls to advance in their tennis career because of the support that they received from their parents. This made their game very strong and even making it difficult for their rivals to beat them. In addition, playing together as sisters has contributed to their success since it was easier for them to share their skills and even motivate each other during competitions. As sisters, they all wanted to be in a good position and thus good performance was the only option. This can be viewed as a healthy competition between the sisters. In the year 1999, Serena Williams was able to beat her sister Venus in a completion during the U.S. opening title. This was the beginning of their success since the two sisters were able to participate in more competitions where they emerged victorious. Venus and Serena have been playing together in pairs over the years and in 2008 they played in the Olympics beating various competitors. Playing as a couple makes them better players considering that they have been training together since they were very young. In addition, they get to understand each other very well making it easier for them to coordinate very well. During the Summer Olympics competitions that were held in 2012, Serena was able to attain fourth position overall as they played together with her sister to counter their opponent Andrea Czech Republic and Lucie in the women’s competitions.
