Topic and problem with reference to the source text: the scholarly article wherein the topic and problem are discussed is Beyond Transnationality: Building Community and Possibilities for Urban Hybridities by Leela Viswanathan. This author basically seeks to initiate a conversation that looks into the possibilities for considering hybridity with regard to community building in cities. Viswanathan (13) defines hybridity as a dynamic entity which is constantly in the process of being and becoming at the same time. The specific point which catches my attention and inspires my further research is when the author of this article states that hybridity needs to go beyond transnationality. Generally, the particular problem is worth to be examined since it will demonstrate how the development of new immigration policies would cultivate the spirit of Canadian multicultural policies that foster hybrid integration without having to abandon the old beliefs in the new society.
