The Great Gatsby Theme Analysis Essay
Fitzgerald's Great Gatsby outlines the story of a young billionaire, Gatsby, who is obsessed with Daisy. The story revolves around various characters hence bringing about the theme of imagination. The character's thoughts lead them into doing things that they could have done differently if they had followed the values of a real-world instead of their imaginations. Through the various characters, Fitzgerald is able to show that imagination is bad because people need to know what is real and trust what really happens.

The light is a symbol of Gatsby's passion for wanting to be in a relationship with daisy. "He knew that when he kissed this girl and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God (Fitzgerald 119)".In his imagination, he is already obsessed with the lady and wonders how it would be to be in a relationship with her again. However, his imagination of having Daisy to himself does not turn out as expected. Daisy decodes to Marry Tom, but this does not seem to stop Gatsby from being obsessed with her. It is through such imagination of being obsessed with Daisy that Gatsby ends up dead. Therefore, his death could not have been untimely if only he saw the reality of things about Daisy. In the real sense, his wealth was not enough to lure Daisy into marrying him...
