In Act two, the writer seeks to bring all the characters together alongside with a seventh Baylen, even if his occurrence is just functionary to interact in a more complicated scene. The structure of Act II is much more conservatively compared to Act I. This is seen where Mament creates vast suspense by hiding the identity of the thief and leaving the viewers wondering whether the thief will be caught (Mamet, 54). The act uses the information the viewers have from the previous one as a spring board to an additional lively mode of storytelling.
From the first scene Aaronow speaks in such a way that leaves the viewers in suspense wondering if he has been caught already or if he will be caught (Mamet, 52). Nevertheless, the characters dialogues are the height of predictability. In this Mamet reminds the viewers that the entire drama or lack of it is in the conversation.
Mament has painted a dramatic picture of gluttony as well as desperation in this microcosm representing American commercial ethics. The different characters show the traits of individuals who fall someplace in the commercial food chain.
