Flint’s Water Crisis and the ‘Troublemaker’ Scientist
The relationship between the scientists, the government, and the local communities were complicated and directly affected the supply of water in the outskirts of Flint. First, the local community could paint their messages on the Flint’s water source until the government declared an emergency in January in response to the Flint’s water crisis. On the other hand, scientific operations were the cause of trouble by contaminating the water source with toxic chemicals from ‘pinhole leaks’. The water turned blue and caused rashes on the consumers prompting the government and researchers to conduct investigation.
