I am writing to you to highlight what I have learned throughout the course of the semester based on the novels A Thousand Acres and We Have Always Lived in the Castle. In both fiction books, authors look into the relationship between sisters and other members of the family where the female narrators explain their family situations. The choice of the female narrators in the books reflects the main themes in each of the novels and how family secrets tear the family apart. Having a voice in both novels reflects power while the characters, interactions, settings and other literary elements reflect a story’s main theme.
