Globalization refers to the growing interdependence of economies, populations, and cultures, brought about by a technology, flow of information, investment, and people. However, globalization seems to have affected core countries than periphery countries. According to Berend (2004) globalization has affected regions of the world differently but benefited the core countries more. Even though globalization has reached periphery country’s they have proved to have little choices other than to submit to the rules of globalization (Berend 15). Core countries and periphery countries are at different levels of development and when the are brought together the natural operations of the global market forces widen their initial equalities further.
