Critical View of the Documentary
The documentary remains an inspiration for me. I can draw inspiration from the post to write on the subjects that relate to persuasive writing. It also encourages me to adopt a better approach to research-based writing as it mainly focuses on how reading may effectively translate to writing (Woodson). I hold inspiration for me for my assignment that may require me to engage in reading as a precursor to writing.
The Importance of the Title
The title is an inspiration for profound readers, particularly those who read to improve writing. Woodson shares her slow reading experience to apprehend words, their soul and meaning. Generally, the title underscores the importance of slow reading to achieve exceptional command on writing.
Three Concepts Conveyed by the Documentary
After having a look at the title, I suppose the following elements to be present in the documentary:
Escapism: Woodson is too absorbed in her world of words, characters and their association that she has elapsed the world where she lives. Moreover, she refers to the hardships she and the previous generation underwent. As an American/African and living with other American/Africans, her life experience has undoubtedly been moving. She seeks solace in her world of fantasy and does not desire to come out regardless of the power of magnetism of the outside world.
Bias: Her reliance on a close relationship with books has distanced her from the advancement of the actual world. She, still, resolutely prefers her unique world of the 'beautiful garden of a selfish giant'.
Literacy: Woodson's nationality status and her award-winning life present a considerable contrast between literacy and illiteracy. Mainly, people from the African/American generation realize the importance of reading and writing.

Music
There was music in the film only in the beginning and the end. The beginning music was light and opening melody that instantly stops to let the novelist capture all attention. The ending music amid the roar of applause gets gradually lower, just like the tone of the author.
Color/Black and White
It was a colour movie where Woodson was standing on a red surface in a spotlight amid the dark surrounding.
Camera Angles, Lighting and Editing
The camera shows Woodson standing in the spotlight and then promptly focuses on her posture. The dim light contributes to the effectiveness of her communication for being compatible with her predominantly emotional tone and her subject. The overall atmosphere is vague, gentle and dim stressing the art of 'slow reading.'
