On November 23, 2017, The New York Times published an article regarding David Hockney's life in the artwork (Smith, “The New york Times”). The news stated that David Hockney has been one of the elder statesmen of painting and his paintings have been reflective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. According to The New York Times, David Hockney has his magnitude that follows his desires to explore how art and life are connected to each other both emotionally and visually. His artwork is fueled by full disclosure, forward motion and also a straightforward joy which enhances him to be above other artists like Francis Bacon and Lucian Freud. According to the News, David Hockney's painting career is covered in the Metropolitan streamlined show for the last seven years. His paintings are also exhibited in eight galleries and are enticing. Mr. Hockney's paintings are efficiently laid out by Ian Alteveer who is the Metropolitan supervisor of modern and contemporary art (Smith, “The New york Times”). The News also states that David Hockney paintings include stage set designs and prints, and superb landscape pictures. This artist is sometimes disparagingly compared to Raoul Dufy, but this comparison does not put away David Hockney's prominence that his gifts and intelligence are impelled by an inherently sunny personality. According to the News, Mr. Hockney's love for nature and study of visual perception gleams his career. This has been reflected in his portrait of gay love and comradeship which he painted when studying at the Royal College of Art. The New York Times article reveals several Hockney's paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. These paintings include; 1967 painting "A lawn Being Sprinkled," and "The Room, Tarzana"; 1977 paintings "Looking at Pictures on a Screen" and "My Parent" (Smith, “The New york Times”).
David Hockney paintings have the power to transform the society because his contribution to the community can uphold new principles to most of the young talented artists (Hyman 107). His contributions can assist in setting new standards for young artists that might suit today's' world. David Hockney lived to emphasize the personal subject matter. He represented the gay men, which has remained as a constant advocate for their rights and support of sexual freedom which gay individuals have been denied for decades. He has also been using a figurative painting that reflects the visual advertising language. In the year 2011, Hockney was rated by the British Art students as the most significant artist who has played an important role to bring back the figurative painting.
