Decades have already passed since the martyrdom of Che Guevara in Bolivia and yet his ideas and influence have captured the hearts and imaginations of people worldwide. The popular T-shirts bearing the icon of his face have become a symbol of rebellion and freedom the world over and yet it does not even capture the tiniest bit of what the man has accomplished. To millions of people in Latin America, Che is the epitome of the human being’s longing to be free. Even in death, Che Guevara’s fire has burned brightly as the ultimate symbol of rebellion in a world that is alienated and oppressed by economic, political, and cultural forces and reduced the human being into abject poverty and helplessness. Despite the glamour of commercialism and the false glitter of monetized living, Che Guevara has lit the dreams of a better world ever burning in the hearts of millions even now.
Ernesto Guevara, popularly known as "Che" was born in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina on June 14, 1928. He is a doctor who left the secure and well-to-do life to offer his services for the revolution. Together with Fidel Castro, they led the Cuban Revolution to victory and while Fidel Castro became president of Cuba, Che Guevara went out to other countries of Latin America to spread the message of Latin American revolution against US imperialism which left the whole region in destitution under US supported regimes promoting American business interestsADDIN CSL_CITATION { "citationItems" : [ { "id" : "ITEM-1", "itemData" : { "author" : [ { "dropping-particle" : "", "family" : "Anderson", "given" : "John Lee", "non-dropping-particle" : "", "parse-names" : false, "suffix" : "" } ], "id" : "ITEM-1", "issued" : { "date-parts" : [ [ "1997" ] ] }, "publisher" : "Bantam Books", "publisher-place" : "California", "title" : "Che Guevarra: A Revolutionary Life", "type" : "book" }, "uris" : [ "/documents/?uuid=3933474f-fc06-49fd-8d94-04029e1dcd41" ] } ], "mendeley" : { "formattedCitation" : "(Anderson, Che Guevarra: A Revolutionary Life)", "plainTextFormattedCitation" : "(Anderson, Che Guevarra: A Revolutionary Life)", "previouslyFormattedCitation" : "(Anderson...
