Essay Instructions:

At the end of each chapter are a list of questions intended to help you review and synthesize the material covered. Consumer Vulnerability
Most consumers in the markets are vulnerable, and this hinders them from receiving fair treatment from the financial providers. While some firms strive to ensure that its operations are ethical and honest with the consumers, most individuals still find it hard to communicate with their providers or to access products. Most consumers are unable to obtain tailored and flexible services matching their own needs from firms. It’s significant that consumers seek help to avoid being in vulnerable circumstances.
One way that a consumer can be described as vulnerable is when they have a preexisting personal condition or situation that makes them vulnerable. A good example is an elderly person who lives on their own. Markets in most cases target the elderly due to their need to be psychologically motivated as they live in fear. Another way that describes a consumer’s vulnerability is a case of an alcoholic. An alcoholic consumer is susceptible to consume alcoholic drinks, which is a form of general weakness. Vulnerability has strong impacts and many consumers struggle to cope with situations that arise as a result of their vulnerability.
An elderly person is vulnerable in the sense that the markets target their fear of being alone. They are targeted continuously due to the high chances of falling and getting injured or having emergencies that require special treatment, but they are unable to call or ask for help. The alcoholic,...
