Introduction
In the highly competitive electronic industry, Samsung and Apple, Inc. have offered two brands of phones, Samsung and IPhone, which are rated highly by consumers. Over the years, the two phones have become the latest and highly demanded devices in the market. However, the relativity and indifference consumer behaviors have always prompted the comparison of the two brands. As much as the both phones appear similar, as they are both smartphones, a close observation indicates that there are distinctive differences between the iPhone and smartphones. The paper seeks to compare and contrast the distinctive differences and similarities between IPhone and Samsung.
Differences
First, whereas IPhone uses the iOS as its operating system, Samsung uses Android as its primary operating system. The iOS operating system is perceived more flexible and user friendly as it supports more apps than Android. Specifically, in the market, IPhones surpasses Samsung by 75, 000 apps and are frequently updated (Shanklin, 2015). Second, the two phones also differ in terms of battery. Initially, the two phones’ battery could not last a day without it being charged. However, Apple made sure they have solved this problem when they launched the IPhone 5 series, whose batteries could go until 3 days without being charged unlike Samsung phones, which could only last 12-16 hours. Third, Samsung differs with iPhone in terms of carriers (Shanklin, 2015).
