In the first part of the poem, we have seen that he is portrayed as the weakest among the knights of King Arthur. One day, the mischievous Green Knight comes and contests against Sir Gawain’s bravery and integrity through combat. Because of this, Sir Gawain proudly wears his dazzling armor and portrays that his strength is not only superficial. He also manifests this manliness inside him at the time when he showed his full loyalty to King Arthur by taking a challenge against this Green Knight.
