To Autumn by John Keats Research Assignment Paper

Essay Instructions:

essay 2, we will explore the different elements of poetry through the poems we have been studying. For your topic, select one of the following elements of poetry: denotation and connotation (since they tend to work as a pair) or imagery. Once you have selected the element, select a poem to write about. This is the equivalent as selecting one of the literary elements and one of the short stories for essay 1. Just as you wrote essay one, focus on ONE example from the poem that demonstrates the element of poetry for each of the four body paragraphs. This essay should have a strong thesis statement (once again, not a point thesis statement that lists the points you will make in each body paragraph), and six paragraphs total. You will also need to use MLA formatting throughout the assignment. As we progress in the semester, MLA will count as a larger percentage of your assignment's grade. Last time, I said that I must see an honest attempt at MLA. Each body paragraph should be full of development. You should develop each example and tie it back to your thesis statement, just as you did in essay 1.
Work cited entry page should have the textbook entry.
Perrine's literature. Structure, Sound and Sense. 13th Edition.
Can you please make sure my essay should be word doc.

John Keats poem has only three stanzas that seem to celebrate, but also laments the death that comes along with autumn that includes death. In the poem, Keats loses his brother to TB, and he has contracted the illness himself.
Imagery is presented using descriptive language to present some of the hidden themes in the poem with each stanza rendering a different overall image to the reader. For example, the first stanza of the poem creates imageries related to ripe fruit, seeds, and flowers found during autum...
