Emily Dickinson is known to have spent most of her life in reclusive isolation. At first, it was difficult for her to greet guests and, this changed into her not leaving her bedroom in her late life. She wrote plenty of poems, most of which were not published until her demise. The poems were heavily edited to fit the writing styles of those days because they lacked certain standards such as capitalization and had short lines. In addition, most of her poems revealed the themes of immortality and death. She also grew a tendency of wearing white. Therefore, her inclusion of immorality in her poems has made me understand her work better.
