Maya Angelou has written several personal essays that reflect a disappointing tone. It is not a coincidence that most anticipations often lead to disappointments and severe heartache when expectations are not met (Takolander 371-383). The exact case on my wedding day left me with disappointment and scars that are as fresh as new.
