A future free of racism is dependent on understanding the History
When the term racism comes up the first thing we think about is the black Americans especially with the recent extrajudicial killing of Floyd. America also has a large population of Indians and Latinos who also go through the struggle of racial prejudice. The book acts as a great handbook for the topic especially now when politics, religion, gender, economics, and culture revolve around the same. By tracking racial evolution throughout the history of Latin America, we can be able to learn how to achieve racial equality.
The largest aspect learned from the book is that racism has strong roots in history that are probably very hard to uproot. Saying goodbye to historical prejudice based on phenotypes, genetics and social status that led to slavery gave way to modernized racism.
