Introduction
While the great civilization of Greece was declining, a new city to the West was emerging and increasing its dominance and power. Rome grew and developed from small settlements to a mighty civilization that consequently conquered the Mediterranean world, an aspect that saw the Romans build one of the most influential empires in history. This paper seeks to dig from the chronicles of primary sources in a bid to establish the interactions between Rome and Christianity.

Emeritus Professor Hans Pohlsander is the author of the bookConstantine the Great Roman Emperor. Emeritus Professor Hans Pohlsander is a native of Germany and was first appointed to the UAlbany faculty in the year 1962 as an emeritus where he served as the Department of Classics chairperson between 1972 and 1978. On the other hand, Mary Beard, John North, and Simon Price authored the book Religions of Rome. The three authors are classical writers from the University of Cambridge. The authors therefore offer a radical survey of the religions that were prevalent in Rome before and after the advent of Christianity.
