The Importance of History: First Successful Blood Transfusion
Write an essay with three most significant WORLD History events from 1660-1669. By significant you should be thinking of events that have long term implications. You can only choose one event that occurred in the U.S., but of course if the U.S. was involved in another locale, that is fine as one of your additional choices.
I would like one to be The Black Plague. 2nd one is in 1665 The first recorded successful blood transfusion occurs in England. Please choose a third one.
You need to have a introduction and a conclusion, so that means with three events you should have a minimum of 450 words per topic. These could be political events, military conflicts, judicial decisions, economic issues, significant movements in culture and the arts, etc. Your choices should come down to which events have had the most long-term affects.
For Instance, if you were writing on the Julius Caesar, you would want to show all the inter-connections between his military career and his political life and how his eventual assassination set the stage for the end of the Republic, which set the stage for the development of the Emperors, which led to Emperor worship, which led to the persecution of Church, which ironically led to the legalization of the Church, which then became the official state religion, but may have led to the collapse of the empire since Christian virtues and Roman virtues were at odds, etc.
Of course, you are expected to go deeper than this, but it briefly shows the cause and affect relationship between historical events - you will be expected to be more detailed rather than just briefly mentioning events (the underlined part above is about 180 words...you need to do 450 minimum for each topic).
In each of your events, describe in detail what happened, the consequences of the events, and then give your analysis of how these topics have reverberated throughout history (whether in a positive or negative light). Write a minimum 1500 words, using MLA style citations (to be demonstrated in class...use the Online Writing Lab {OWL} for guidance should you forget details. YOU MUST USE citations at the end of the sentence with a separate source page.
