An excellent (A) CR should include the following elements:
1. A clear description of the music/musical elements you heard
2. A focus on a PART of the concert, a 5-8 minute song, movement, section 
3. Going into depth and detail, not superficial elements
4. 1-3 clear, well-cited comparisons to specific pieces FROM THE TEXTBOOK (where the music need not SOUND LIKE music from the textbook, but that you recognize SHARES COMMON MUSICAL ELEMENTS WITH music from the textbook
A good to very good CR (B) essay has the following:
1. A general description of the music/musical elements you heard
2. A superficial description of the entire concert 
3. some comparisons which are to periods of Music History, or to music outside the textbook
A "C" CR has an incomplete description of the entire concert, with a weak or no comparison
A "D" CR has a garbled, inaccurate discussion, little or no thesis, little evidence or
argument, quotations misused (or overused), assertion in place of conclusion, no
obvious organizational structure, no more than ten errors.
An “F” CR – any paper turned in late

The Franz Schubert: String Quartet No. 13 in A minor (the Rosamunde Quartet), D. 804, Op. 29, gives a dark start with the mournful theme of the violin. There are some changes relative to the movements that are used to modulate the major keys in some of the points, however, there is an element of downcast darkness and pensive mood about the music. Examined closely, there is the insistent morose with halts. This comes off in the first movement which long, dramatic and emotional. The second movement on the other hand is also mournful but smaller, while the third brings out the element of despondency. However, there is a lift of the veil of depression towards the end using the major notes to bring a conclusion.
