American Civil War is one of the heated issues of world history. The war ended in Spring, 1865 when Robert E. Lee surrendered the last major Confederate army to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Courthouse on April 9, 1865. A century after it has ended, there still arouse opposing ideas presented by scholars as to what started the bloodshed.
One theory, and probably the most accepted, is the moral issue of slavery when Southern political leaders resist the Northern’s attempts to block the expansion of slavery in the West.
