The Emancipation Proclamation, the Declaration of Independence, the constitution greatly influenced King's speech, and thus made significant progress towards the achievement of freedom and equality of African Americans. The speech by King made a significant difference in the world since the discriminated populations knew and realized they could speak out their issues to pave the way for independence. According to Washington (1), African Americans have pathetic lives even after more than 100 years since the emancipation Act towards the achievement of freedom for every citizen in the United States. The population is still bound, they do not have the right to vote, they cannot stand in some public places, and their children are equally referred as lesser humans to the White's (Washington, 1). The Act was declared but not instated for action or implementation. Hence, it did not impact the lives of the black population in the country, and all they can do is to live in the dream and hope for ultimate freedom.
The speech proclaims the truth about the condition of African Americans. The demographic lives like strangers in their own country. Whites in the country matter and their opinion is considered more relevant or weightier. Although African Americans have gained some freedom since they can vote, the United States still appears to be promoting racial inequality. How long should the population reside in bondage?
