Chinese votive sword refers to an ancient sword discovered in an eroded bank of a small river stream in Georgia, United States. The sword was found in 2014 by an avocational surface collector (Rykov, 2018). The artifact provides a glimpse into important historical facts and has contributed to understanding the Chinese people's movement during ancient times. The sword is a physical object/ artifact and currently resides in Georgia. Historians have been studying the sword to extract relevant historical information from it.
One of the revelations made by historians studying the sword is that it is very old. There are so many features of the sword that reveals that it must have been made during the Chines travel to North America during the Pre-Columbian times. Further studies are expected to be done in the future to reveal the exact materials used in the making of this historical artifact. The sword is significantly eroded, but historical experts believe that existing scientific procedures such as carbon dating can be used to provide more information concerning the artifact.
Although the artifact resides in Georgia, it originated from China and came to America through the early Chinese movements in North America.
