This is an IB IA research paper. I already finished first 2 sections and right now I only need the third section to be done. The third section is the Reflection. I attached the work I have done already just for reference. (Also, I attached some feedbacks from my teacher based the first 2 sections I have done. Section 3: Reflection
This research has presented me with a chance to comprehend various historical sources, scholars, and methods of obtaining primary data. Notably, the research dates back to the First and Second World Wars, where causes of the Attack on Pearl Harbor can be identified. As a result, I have learnt to search for primary historical sources that are associated with unbiased data on the events and communication setbacks that led to the attacks. In this investigation, I have embarked on research from renowned websites, government documents, and analysis of public addresses associated with the topic.
A comparison of historical data from the sources regarding the research question has provided insight into the approaches used by historians to preserve and expose data to the public and their limitations. The question's subject was approached from a primary and secondary perspective concerning the information. The first source, the Department of State, is a primary source, while the BBC History article was a secondary source. I found out that each source had limitations in outlining Pearl Harbor's attacks' historical information. An example is the 'Peace and War: The United States Foreign Policy, 1931-1941' published by the US Department of State in 1983. A review of the source's publishing date (1983) and the attack on Pearl Harbor (1941) shows that the information had been held from the public for many years. This duration caused limitations to data access by historians who wanted to understand the influence of communication failure on the attack on Pearl Harbor.
