What Does Tesla, Inc Do for The Environment?
Tesla, a company founded in 2003, deals with the production of zero-emission vehicles that are powered by batteries, home batteries, and solar panels. The company has been a crucial step towards the use and adoption of green energy since it relies on vehicles that use electricity rather than those that rely on nonrenewable energy (Nykvist & Nilsso. 330). Climate change has continued to increase, and by 2019 it had reached alarming levels, which is attributed to high levels of emission that arose attributed to burning fossil fuels for electricity generation and transportation CITATION Tes19 \l 1033 (Tesla). The company’s goal is to speed up the world’s transit towards the use of sustainable energy.
It is impossible to address the need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions unless companies consider ways of reducing energy consumption and generation. This can be achieved by reducing the emission from the power and transportation sectors. This has been the basis for the company’s existence since it focuses on creating transportation and power ecosystem that relies on power generation and energy storage (Nykvist & Nilsso. 331). By design, the company’s products are sustainable. Electricity production and transportation comprise some of the largest sources of greenhouse gas emissions, and they make up over half of the emissions from the United States CITATION Tes19 \l 1033 (Tesla). The Tesla ecosystem, comprising of vehicles, batteries, and solar panels, seeks to reduce the environmental effect of electricity production, transportation, and energy use by businesses, people, homes, and the grid. Before 2006, there was not all-electric vehicle being manufactured or even sold (Nykvist & Nilsso. 330). The Tesla Roadster was the first all-electric vehicle, and by 2019 there are over 3 million all-electric vehicles on the road globally.
