National Society of Collegiate Scholars
The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is an organization that recognizes academic achievement and provides opportunities for members to develop leadership skills. The NSCS provide recognition, networking, career resources, leadership development, and guidance/support relating to social service. Again, NSCS offers an opportunity for members to make applications for special scholarships and awards, free access to different career development tools, attend special NSCS programs throughout the country and are often courted by recruiters for major employers. If NSCS can help me accomplish one thing to be successful in my collegiate career I would like to develop and advance my leadership skills through the leadership development program.
Collegiate Career will be significant to me when I have leadership skills and competencies that can contribute to my adaptation to different job environments. The student leadership development and education will provide me with opportunities to grow and demonstrate my leadership skills while still at the college and when I will enter the job market. According to the NSCS Chapter Leadership and Responsibilities, the organization is committed to providing each officer a leadership program that challenges each member to develop the skills and attributes that are necessary for the future success as global citizens (The National Society of Collegiate Scholars 1).
The Field Educational programs are considered to have the ability to leverage leadership programs with the curriculum (Mathews 4).
