Antigone by Sophocles is a story that provides a critical analysis of the Thebes, Shmoopers. The book paints a picture of a uniformly doomed city, with some of characteristically different cultures. Antigone depicts volume three that characterizes the ultimate dark Greek dreadful trilogy: Oedipus at Colonus, Oedipus the King and Antigone. These play tags along the collapse of the great king; Oedipus, and also provide the endless list of disasters that his children suffered.
The role that Oedipus play is secret in some reasons: They are tragic, unpleasant and are bound to produce depression even to the aggressively cheerful theatergoer. Therefore, it is one of the plays that each theatre fan is highly encouraged to have a taste of. The story goes down to Antigone, who picks up in the same place that deceased Oedipus Colonus had left. Upon the death of Oedipus, Antigone and her sister made an enormous decision of returning to Thebes with the desire of assisting their comrades, Polyneices as well as Eteocles. Initially, there held a prophecy that the two brothers will murder each other in a battle for the throne of Thebes. Antigone was motivated to ensure that this does not happen.
