After reading the story, The Most Dangerous Game, the ironic implications of the story became clear. Similarly, the intentions of the story became clear. The author condemns hunting of animals because it is a cruelty to animals. In fact, through two characters, who are hunters but in different contexts, the author shows that, animals too have feelings. Rainsford is a hunter, and pursues hunting as a sport. Rainsford perceived that human beings are superior to animals. Well, his perceptions fell to test when he encounters General Zaroff, who is also a hunter, but a human hunter.
